Walk in the footsteps of the Black Watch of Canada in this special pilgrimage tour, as led by professor and historian David O'Keefe in 2022
Following in the footsteps of the Royal Highland Regiment of Canada (The Black Watch of Montreal) ^
The prestigious Royal Highland Regiment of Canada (The Black Watch of Montreal), one of Canada's most famous regiments, was virtually wiped out during "Operation Spring" on July 25th, 1944 - but their remarkable story of strength, tragedy, and determination against all odds doesn't end here.
On this specially focused program, running from July 13th-July 23rd next year, we'll travel from the shores of D-Day to the Liberation of the Netherlands, alongside critically acclaimed historian and professor David O’Keefe.
You may have heard that name before - from History Television's War Junk to documentaries like The Black Watch Snipers, and Dieppe Uncovered, it's fair to say that if you're a fan of History, David O'Keefe has graced your television screen once or twice.
David O'Keefe & Wayne Abbot's have led them on many adventures ^
Or perhaps his name graces your bookshelf? His three critically acclaimed books, (including the Seven Days in Hell series on Verrieres Ridge), were Amazon's top 3 Canadian bestsellers this year for Canadian History in the 20th Century.
But perhaps what's most fitting, is that David O'Keefe served as an infantry officer in the The Black Watch himself, and was later employed as their official historian for nearly a decade - who better to lead us on this much-anticipated tour?
It is a huge honour to have professor David O'Keefe leading us on this program especially.
And indeed, what an adventure it will be -
