The Battlefield Tours General Group Booking Terms & Conditions 

Why should I read this? Because it is important! Please read all of the information asit sets out the conditions covering your travel arrangements.​The following information and conditions constitute your binding contract with Connection Custom Travel Inc., Connection Tours, The Battlefield Tours of Canada, and their affiliates. Please read all of the information below as it provides conditions relating to both the services of Connection Custom Travel Inc. and its suppliers:

 

Deposit payment

An initial deposit of $500.00 per person is required at the time of booking, of which $300.00 is non-refundable unless noted otherwise. Note: If you purchase travel insurance, your insurance premium needs to be paid to your travel agent in addition to, and at the time of the initial deposit.

 

Final Payment

Full and final payment for your group program with Connection Custom Travel Inc. is due 60 days prior to departure. Full Payment is due immediately for reservations made within 70 days prior to departure. If payment isn't made by the due date, Connection Custom Travel Inc. will assume that you have canceled your group booking and cancellation charges may be applicable.

 

​Cancellation Policy

Our cancellation policy is based on outside suppliers and third parties contracted for this group booking. All cancellations must be received in writing. Refund in full, less $300 per person, will be made up to 70 days prior to departure unless otherwise noted.

 

Cancellation within 70 days of departure is subject to the following charges:

               | 70-31 days prior to departure - 50% of tour cost

               | 30-0 days prior to departure - 100% of tour cost

 

Insurance

Medical insurance is mandatory on all of our escorted tours and details must be provided at the time of booking. Please be aware that clients are subject to any cancellation fees assessed by our suppliers including hotels, airlines, and certain entrances used in the itinerary. We strongly recommend that your individual travellers purchase trip cancellation insurance which is available for coverage of expenses with cancellation due to illness or accident. In the event a participant must cancel their trip, trip cancellation insurance may be the only source of reimbursement.​

 

Refunds

No refund is made for unused travel services or any portion hereof, nor is the value of the unused services exchangeable for alternative arrangements.​PricingPrices confirmed to you at the time of booking include all taxes and surcharges. All pricing is in Canadian dollars. Once your booking is confirmed and deposit or full payment is made, the tour price for you will not change. However, as virtually all our products are purchased in foreign currency, we do reserve the right to change the brochure prices should exchange rates between the Canadian dollar and those currencies fluctuate more than 7%. You will be advised before booking if any pricing has changed. Any and all additional air or government-related taxes or surcharges imposed before you make your deposit will also be added.

 

Payments

The preferred method of payment is by cheque. Credit cards will be accepted on the understanding that your authorization to use your credit card number for the deposit or final payment indicates your compliance with these booking terms and conditions, whether or not you have actually signed the appropriate draft.

 

Airline and train tickets

To ensure the air or train tickets of your choice e.g. World Traveller Plus or seat-sale pricing, it will sometimes be necessary to pay for and issue the airline tickets more than 70 days prior to departure. Once you have agreed to this and the tickets are issued they are subject to the various airline's cancellation policies. This usually means they are 100% non-refundable or subject to change fees.

 

Cruises/Ferries

The cruise or ferry portions of all packages are subject to the terms and conditions of the cruise and ferry companies. These are available on request and will be given to every client at the time of booking. Airline or train tickets: see the note above.

 

Special Requests

If you have special requests, e.g. seating preferences, meal preferences, etc. please ensure you advise us at the time of booking. We will pass on all requests to our suppliers but cannot guarantee they will be met.

 

Travel Documents

Canadian and US citizens require a valid passport for travel to Europe and most countries require a passport to be valid for at least 6 months beyond the length of your stay. Non-Canadian or American citizensshould consult their consulate for the required documents. Additional visas may be required in some countries. It is thepassengers' responsibility to have the correct documentationwith them at all times.

 

Living Standards

Please note that living standards and practices, as well as conditions and standards with respect to the provision of utilities, sanitary services, and the grading of accommodation, that differs with North Americanstandards may be encountered during your travel for which The Battlefield Tours can not be held responsible.

Hotels

Accommodations in the destinations we visit vary and our range of hotels includes everything from 5-star to cozy, family-run hotels.


Rooms
Please specify if you prefer a double (shared) or twin bedding. Most rooms are doubles / twin occupancy. Triple may be on request but not guaranteed throughout your program.

Single rooms are in short supply and early booking is advised. All rooms have private facilities which will be either bath or WC or shower & WC. We will try to meet your requests if made within a timely manner, however, we cannot guarantee your preference will be met.

Luggage
We ask that those of you on the motor coach tours limit your luggage to one suitcase plus a carry on. Please be sure that you are aware of current airport and airline weight and carry-on restrictions.
 

Wheelchairs
We are able to carry your folding wheelchair in the luggage compartment but not battery powered wheelchairs. Please advise the Battlefield Tours if you intend to bring one. If you are disabled in any way please ask our staff about the suitability of any particular tour or hotel.
 

Changes
Changes to a confirmed reservation will incur a handling fee of $50.00 per file. For any flight changes or flight cancellations that are requested, the airline's policy on change fees or cancellation charges will apply.
 

Changes on coach tours - Depending on circumstances it may sometimes be necessary for The Battlefield Tours, or its suppliers, to substitute alternative hotels or motor coaches or to change the order and content of the itinerary. The Battlefield Tours reserves the right without notice to withdraw any part or all of the tour. Factors such as airline schedule changes, hotel over-bookings, adverse or dangerous weather, etc. may necessitate such changes in the itinerary. There also may be other circumstances in which changes become necessary or advisable. Transportation, hotel, and other travel services are provided to tour members subject to all the terms and conditions under which they are offered to the public generally.
 

Responsibility
The Battlefield Tours purchases transportation, hotel accommodation, tour and ferry passage, restaurant and other services from various different suppliers who are not affiliated with The Battlefield Tours in any way. All vouchers, coupons or receipts issued by The Battlefield Tours are issued subject to all tariffs, terms and conditions under which all transportation, including airlines, coach, hotels, tour and ferry operators, restaurants and other services are contracted.

Airline clause: The passenger tickets in use by the airline, when issued, shall constitute the sole contract between the airline and the passenger.
 

Participants agree not to hold The Battlefield Tours responsible for any loss, injury or damage to any person, property or otherwise in connection with any accommodation, transportation or resulting from any Acts of God, dangers, incident at sea, fire, breakdowns in machinery or equipment, act of governments, or authorities, de jure or de facto, wars declared or not, hostilities, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, pilferage, epidemics, pandemics, quarantines, medical or customs regulations, defaults, delays, cancellations or any causes beyond our control, for any loss or damage resulting from improperly issued visas or other documents, and that the Battlefield Tours or its staff will not be responsible for any additional expenses or liability sustained for or incurred by the tour participant as a result of any of the forgoing clauses.

Responsibility of the Traveler

There may be times when the Connection manager/host/representative has to make a decision in your best interest or for the best interest of the group. We ask that you agree to comply with the authority and decisions of the appointed manager and the laws of the country in which you are traveling. If you do not comply or if, in the tours manager’s opinion, you are not compatible with the general enjoyment and well-being of the other members on the trip, or the smooth operation of the journey itself; we reserve the right to refuse to let you continue participating in the group program. We do not tolerate the possession or carriage of illegal or restricted substances (drugs). You must agree that your fellow travellers and Connection Custom Travel Inc. staff have the right to travel/work in a safe environment. Any threats to their safety, well-being, or inappropriate behaviour by you, whether verbal or physical will be taken extremely seriously and may result in the immediate termination of your vacation. In either event, you will be responsible for your own repatriation and related costs, having no claims against us.

 

Should you have a complaint in respect to your travel program, you should inform the Connection Custom Travel Inc. director on site during the course of your journey. If the matter cannot be resolved despite Connection Custom’s on-site representative's best efforts to do so, your complaint should be made in writing to Connection Custom Travel Inc. as soon as it is reasonably possible. If you choose to write Connection Custom Travel Inc. via e-mail or online, please provide us with your home address so we might be able to send you a direct reply in writing. 

 

Risks

There are certain inherent risks in adventure travel where applicable - these might include, but are not limited to, hiking, walking, safaris, climbing injuries, altitudes, all contact with animals, inaccessibility to medical attention and difficulty in evacuation from remote locations in the case of a medical emergency. The passenger assumes all risks of personal injury, death, or property damage that may arise out of the events like those advised or warned against.
