Sam talks to Gerry Peddle, Chair of the Canadian National War Beechwood Cemetery, about Remembrance

For Remembrance Day this year, I wanted to get in touch with some of the remarkable people in the Battlefield Community that have contributed to the Canadian battlefield story.

In this video, I chat with my good friend the Venerable Gerry Peddle, Chair of the Canadian National War Cemetery, Beechwood.

We talk about home in this year of virtual remembrance while learning fascinating tidbits about the Cemetery. We discuss who he thinks needs our support and awareness right now - and what he'll be doing for Remembrance Day this year.

We're looking forward to getting back on tour together for the much-anticipated unveiling of the Caribou Monument at Gallipoli, Turkey.

Join us June 23 - July 4, 2022, to pay respect to the 6th and final Caribou Monument, which, after 107 years, has finally been erected to complete Newfoundland’s Caribou Trail.

Each of the six magnificent Caribou sculptures along the trail stands for a generation of Newfoundlanders sacrificed on the killing fields of Europe. Envisioned by the Regiment's unflappable and devoted padre, Thomas Nangle, for more than a century, only 5 in Europe stood tall, until now. See more & join us
